There is an amazingly clear water of the Adriatic. The coastline is mostly rocky and made up of pebble beaches, so the sea does not regularly get fogged by rolling up sand. Which are charter targets in Croatia?
For Croatian yacht charter, you can head to the next principal harbor towns, e.g.: Zadar, Sibenik, Split, Biograd, Sukosan, Trogir, Pula, and Dubrovnik. You can navigate your bareboat charter yacht simultaneously the Dalmatian shoreline or journey around the islands. The distance from Dubrovnik in the South to Zadar is 155 nautical miles, to give you an example. If you travel for Split, there are three marinas to get. The ACI Marina Split just southwest of the historic center has 364 moorings for yachts up to 80 m. The Mariana Lav is established in a luxury hotel complex 8 km southeast of the city center and hosts 74 boats of up to 40 m lengths. Subsequently, the Marina Kastela, 7 km from the terminal, for yachts up to 100 m has 400 chambers. 7 km south of Zadar has an extraordinary 1400 moorings and offers lots of assistance, including various dry docks in the Marina Sukosan. In Biograd´s roomy Marina Kornati in North Dalmatia there are 750 berths and Marina Mandalina in Sibenik, for instance, has to room for 350 yachts up to 100 m length.
With the multitude of islands, you have much choice to choose where to go for your sailing yacht charter in Croatia. The sailing period in the North of Croatia goes from June till the end of September, as it is a little fresher than in the South. There it stretches from May until the end of October.
Prevailing winds are the Bora and the Sirocco winds in the Adriatic during the winter (September and May). In the summertime months, the Maestral prevails.
